The role:

Working within our Microbiology team, you will join a highly motivated group within a testing facility. Your role is vital for ensuring the running of the laboratory to support the conduct of contract GLP/GMP studies. This will include direct line management for people in the department, scheduling of work and ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. A key element is the organisation and tracking of staff training and development. You will be responsible for ensuring that training modules are available, current and effective and that sufficient, suitably trained personnel are available within the team.

You must be adaptable to frequent change and be able to react quickly to meet the demands of the business. The ability to communicate well and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues is crucial to the success of the role.

Who you are:

• You have a BSc in a scientific or associated field
• Shown relevant proven experience (ideally GLP/GMP) leading and/or supervising staff
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• You have the ability to work collaborative as well as individually
• You are passionate about developing and mentoring others
• You can prioritise work within a fast-paced environment and have problem-solving skills
