The Role:

Due to continued business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager to join our Molecular team in Glasgow , you will be responsible for oversight and overall management of our PCR Biosafety group within the department. This includes line management of senior members of the teams and responsibility for the corresponding metrics for the team.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and act as champion on initiatives and projects to drive improvement in quality and client service . Collaborating with Sales and Operations Planning, you will review forecast and utilise predictive modelling tools to plan for capacity needs within your area of responsibility.The position will work alongside the Laboratory Manager leading our Genetic Stability group within the Molecular team.

Who you are:

  • You have a PhD or BSc in a scientific or associated discipline with a proven track record of managing a team
  • Proven relevant industry experience (ideally GLP/GMP) leading and/or supervising staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills that have been demonstrated through presentations/seminars, oversight of projects, implementation of new services etc
  • Excellent time management skills
  • You are highly collaborative as well as independent
  • Demonstrating a high level of initiative and leadership capabilities
  • You have strong planning and organisational skills
  • You have the ability to prioritise work within a fast-paced environment and have strong problem-solving skills
  • You are self-motivated with strong initiative and drive
